Does DraftWarden store my contracts?

Accepted Answer

No. DraftWarden reads the contract on the page you’re already viewing — Google Docs, Notion, a PDF preview, a contract pasted into the page — and flags clauses locally in your tab. No file is uploaded, nothing about what you read is stored on our side, and there is no archive of past scans on our servers.

Is DraftWarden legal advice?

Accepted Answer

No — DraftWarden flags patterns and suggests language, not legal advice. It is the flag-and-rewrite layer between you and a $400 contract, replacing the panicked skim with a fast, structured read. For anything unusual — custom IP terms, multi-jurisdiction work, real money on the line — talk to a lawyer.

Does it work on any contract format?

Accepted Answer

Anything that renders as readable text in your Chrome tab works — Google Docs, Notion, a PDF preview, a contract pasted inline, even a plain DOCX in a web viewer. If it’s an image-only scan of a printed contract, we can’t read it; you’ll need an OCR pass first.

Will it redline or send counter-offers for me?

Accepted Answer

No. DraftWarden shows the flagged phrase, why it matters, and a plain-English rewrite — it does not edit the document in place, does not send anything to your client, and does not auto-negotiate. You stay the decision-maker: read the flag, accept the rewrite, paste it back in your own reply.

How is my contract data protected?

By construction nothing leaves your tab — the extension reads the page locally and surfaces flags inline, with no upload step, no model-training pipeline, and no telemetry on which clauses you read. The full data-handling note is in our Privacy policy.

Can I use DraftWarden for client contracts too?

Accepted Answer

Yes — anything DraftWarden can read in your Chrome tab works, regardless of whether you’re the freelancer signing the engagement or the agency reviewing a vendor MSA. The flags and the rewrites are the same either way: known-bad clause shapes, and paste-ready English to send back.
