DraftWarden is a Chrome extension — plus this website — built for independents and small agencies who review freelance contracts. Open a contract in your tab, and the extension reads it locally, flags the known-bad clause patterns (net-90 payment terms, IP-on-final-payment, unlimited revisions, and the other shapes freelancers get bitten on), and shows a plain-English rewrite you can paste back to your client.

The scope is narrow by design: read-only of the tab you’re already viewing. We do not collect the contracts you read, do not upload them, do not train any model on them, and do not keep an archive of your past scans. Past flags and rewrites are stored locally in your browser.

DraftWarden flags patterns and suggests language — it is not a lawyer, does not act as your lawyer, and the use of DraftWarden does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and us. The flags and the rewrites are a starting point, not a substitute for legal review on a contract with real consequences.

For anything unusual — custom IP terms, multi-jurisdiction work, real money on the line — talk to a lawyer.

Use DraftWarden for its intended purpose: reviewing contracts and pulling paste-ready English back into your replies. Don’t try to break it, probe it, or use it to attack other people’s accounts. Don’t reverse-engineer the extension binary for redistribution, and don’t scrape the rewrite library to build a competing product or to spam clients with templated responses.

Who owns what. The extension, the rewrite library it ships with, this site, and the product copy are owned by us. You’re welcome to use the rewrites in your own contracts — that’s the whole point — but the underlying pattern library and the tool itself stay under our license.

DraftWarden offers a free tier for the core flags, and DraftWarden Pro at $19 a month for the gated feed of extended flags and rewrites. Checkout, trial mechanics (if any), cancellations, and refunds are handled by our payment provider, Stripe, through their Checkout flow. Manage your subscription — including cancellation — directly from your Account area. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; we don’t pro-rate partial months. Specific billing questions, refund requests, or anything in between — write draftwarden@polsia.app.

Within the bounds of applicable consumer law, the service is provided “as is.” We don’t guarantee that every flagged clause is the one to push back on, that every rewrite is the language you should ship, or that the absence of a flag means a clause is safe. You stay the decision-maker: read the flag, judge the rewrite, send what you decide to send.

We aren’t liable for losses arising from following a flag, accepting a rewrite, or deciding to ignore either. If a contract matters — your IP, your pay, your liability — pay a lawyer to read it.

We may update these terms as the product grows. Material changes get a new effective date at the top of this page, and active DraftWarden Pro subscribers get a mail note when a change is going to affect them. The version that was in force on the date you subscribed applies to your existing subscription until we tell you otherwise.
